This is how I feel since I came to the US to perform a series of free quilting demonstrations with rulers: as if I were entering a new world.
I spend the days between airports and shops, in different cities, meeting many ladies who like you and I share the taste for the work of patchwork and quilting, They are eager to learn new techniques and ideas to quilting with the rules.
I hope I can summarize everything I’m seeing and learning, which is a lot!
On Facebook I’m uploading some videos, so that you can see the dimension of some of the stores
I’m visiting and the magnitude of the fairs and exhibitions. Everything here is proportional to how huge the country is! : D
Find my Rulers in U.S
Ask for my Quilting Rulers in U.S. to your favorite quilt store from the distributor at Brewer
The first thing was the Quilt Show in Chicago.
Linda Zachman’s store has enchanted me!
It’s 50 years since it started. This lady is an inspiration for me and I’m going to finish my tour before come back home in Spain in her store, with quilting huge demonstrations with the rules.
Then I spent a few days with Jill Reicks at Inspired to Sew, where Quilts breathes in Iowa. They have an online store where you can order whatever you need: www.inspiredtosew.com
Near that store are the Amish, it is easy to understand how there can exist a shop with more than 100 quilts for sale and so much tradition of quilting. I will be back in May to do 4 consecutive days of classes in this store.
I was also in Phoenix in 35th sew and vac that (before being this store) was a supermarket and for 6 years Jackie Gilbreath has been with thousands of fabrics and machines. They have their website and you can trust they have a great team to handle online orders.
I am following a very complete itinerary that you can see on Facebook
I’m in Texas to continue the live demonstrations. It’s a state that I love because everything is great and the shops have everything!
- SewMuchMore Austin
- Best of Bernina Plano
- Cupcake Quilts Spring
- Sew it up Hurst
- B sew inn Fayetteville (Arkansas) Tulsa (Oklahoma)
Here in Dallas you can hear sirens at night and it’s hot in the spring.
Tomorrow I’ll try to see the skyline (or skyscraper line) when I’m on my way to the airport to Houston, then to the store.
I check every day that Quilting Colors and Quilting Rulers cover a growing need: now it is possible to quilting with domestic machines, in a more professional way and the ladies marvel to discover it.
If you have family or friends in the USA share this information, because you can join and learn a lot. I would love to hear from your side!
PS: thanks for sharing my posts on Facebook.
Although I miss my home in Spain a lot, I feel very close to you.
